Acrylic on Canvas, 11x14”
This painting explores a personal memory from a stormy morning spent alongside my dog, Tinley, in my first little apartment in Ann Arbor. It embodies the specific feeling I have always associated with “home”- a feeling characterized by warmth, comfort, companionship, and contentment, often found in the little moments. Though this piece reflects a personal memory, it was created in hopes of giving the viewer a similar feeling of being welcomed into this moment of comfort and feeling truly at home.
On display in HOME, an all media art exhibition themed around the different meanings and iterations of “home” at the Gutman Gallery in Ann Arbor, MI from August 13th through September 25th.
